Doctors test which needle gets better liver samples
NCT ID NCT06643520
Summary
This study aimed to find out which size of biopsy needle works better for collecting liver tissue samples during a common diagnostic procedure. Researchers compared a thinner 22-gauge needle to a thicker 19-gauge needle in 82 patients with unexplained liver problems. The main goal was to see which needle provided more complete tissue samples for accurate diagnosis, while also tracking any side effects.
