Study finds simpler method just as good for liver biopsies
NCT ID NCT07249268
Summary
This study compared two ultrasound methods doctors use to guide needle biopsies of suspicious liver lumps. Researchers looked back at 330 patients to see if using a special dye (contrast-enhanced ultrasound) was better than standard ultrasound at getting a good tissue sample. They found both methods worked equally well for most patients, suggesting the simpler standard approach is sufficient in routine cases.
