Lithium tested as potential treatment for rare genetic brain disorder

NCT ID NCT06776848

Summary

This study is testing whether a drug called lithium carbonate can help improve daily living skills and behavior in people with a rare genetic condition called TBR1-related neurocognitive disorder. The trial will involve about 12 participants, aged 6 and older, who have a confirmed TBR1 gene change. After an initial observation period, participants will take lithium for 24 months to see if it is safe and if it helps with their learning and social challenges.
