Baby thyroid study: liquid medicine vs crushed pills

NCT ID NCT05228184

Summary

This study aimed to compare a liquid form of thyroid hormone medication (Tirosint-SOL) with the standard crushed tablet form for treating babies with congenital hypothyroidism. It involved about 126 infants up to 9 months old to see which treatment was easier for parents to give and better at keeping hormone levels stable. The trial was terminated early and followed babies for about a year.
