Scientists probe cholesterol particle function to unlock heart disease secrets

NCT ID NCT06747000

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study looks at how lipoproteins (cholesterol-carrying particles) work in the blood, not just their levels. Researchers want to understand why these particles may malfunction in people with lipid disorders, increasing heart disease risk. The study will enroll 80 healthy volunteers and people with abnormal cholesterol levels, measuring how their platelets clump together. Findings could lead to better ways to prevent and treat heart disease.
