First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tests whether linaclotide, a drug that helps the intestines release water and salt, can slow or prevent colorectal cancer. About 230 people with colorectal adenomas (precancerous growths) or early-stage colorectal cancer will take the drug or a placebo before surgery. Researchers will measure changes in cell signals and tumor growth to see if the drug has a protective effect.
