Targeted proton therapy trial aims to control brain tumors with fewer side effects in kids

NCT ID NCT01419067

Summary

This study is testing a treatment approach for a rare brain tumor called craniopharyngioma in patients up to age 21. It compares two groups: one receives less extensive surgery followed by targeted proton radiation, while the other is observed after complete surgical removal. The main goal is to see if this combination can effectively control the tumor while potentially reducing long-term side effects from treatment.
