First seen Dec 09, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tested a device that creates a new connection between a vein and an artery below the knee to restore blood flow in people with critical limb ischemia, a severe blockage that can lead to amputation. The 28 participants had no other treatment options. The goal was to see if the procedure could prevent death or major amputation and help wounds heal.
