New monitoring method aims to prevent leg damage during surgery

NCT ID NCT07387653

First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at whether non-invasive monitors can detect reduced blood flow to the legs during pelvic surgeries where patients are positioned with legs raised. Thirty adults having minimally invasive pelvic surgery lasting over 2 hours will be monitored. The goal is to see how often oxygen levels drop in leg tissues and if that relates to pain or numbness after surgery. This is an observational study, meaning no treatment is given, but it may help develop ways to prevent serious complications like limb ischemia.
