First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether a single session of light therapy (photobiomodulation) applied to the cheek right after wisdom tooth removal could reduce pain, swelling, and jaw stiffness. 70 healthy adults participated. The results showed that the light therapy helped lower pain and improve quality of life on the second day after surgery, but it did not reduce swelling or jaw stiffness.
