Shining a light on memory loss: can brain therapy slow decline?

NCT ID NCT07287527

Summary

This study is testing whether a non-invasive light therapy, called transcranial photobiomodulation, can help improve memory and thinking skills in older adults with mild cognitive impairment. Researchers will compare the effects of real light therapy versus a fake (sham) treatment when both are paired with memory training exercises. They will also use brain scans and genetic testing to see how the treatment affects brain connections and if genetics play a role in who benefits most.
