Gentle light may soothe Post-Surgery dry eyes

NCT ID NCT07067294

Summary

This study tested whether a gentle, non-invasive light treatment could help prevent or reduce dry eye symptoms in people recovering from cataract surgery. 98 patients were randomly assigned to receive either the real light therapy or a sham (fake) treatment with a similar device, given one week before and one week after their surgery. Researchers measured changes in eye comfort, tear quality, and signs of inflammation to see if the light therapy improved recovery.
