Shedding light on dry eye: new study reveals how light therapies work
NCT ID NCT06004895
First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 26, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study looked at how two light-based treatments—intense pulsed light (IPL) and low-level light therapy (LLLT)—help people with dry eye and clogged oil glands in the eyelids. 26 adults received four treatment sessions, with one eye getting both therapies and the other getting LLLT alone. The goal was to see which approach works better and how the treatments affect tear stability and symptoms over time.
