MIT tests flickering light & sound to reboot schizophrenia brains

NCT ID NCT07342465

Summary

This study is testing a new at-home therapy that uses flickering light and sound at a specific frequency (40 Hz) to try to improve brain function in people with schizophrenia. Researchers want to see if this gentle sensory stimulation is safe and if it can help with thinking problems and symptoms that current medications often don't address well. The study involves 20 participants who will try the stimulation during visits to MIT for brain scans and cognitive tests.
