First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested if a lidocaine spray and mouth rinse before surgery could reduce the body's stress response to having a breathing tube inserted, compared to a standard IV painkiller (fentanyl). Fifty adults having planned surgeries took part. The goal was to see which method better kept blood pressure stable right after tube placement.
