Lidocaine spray may replace fentanyl for tube insertion stress

Summary

This study tested if a lidocaine spray and mouth rinse before surgery could reduce stress from inserting a breathing tube, compared to a standard IV painkiller (fentanyl). 50 adults having elective surgery participated. The goal was to see which method better controlled blood pressure changes right after tube placement.
