Summary

This study tested two medicines—Dexmedetomidine and Lidocaine—to see which better prevents sudden high blood pressure caused by a tourniquet during knee arthroscopy. 186 adults having outpatient knee surgery took part. Both drugs helped, but Dexmedetomidine was more effective, though it caused more side effects like slow heart rate.
