NCT ID NCT07488832

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether giving the numbing drug lidocaine through a vein during lumbar fusion surgery can lower the amount of strong painkillers (opioids) needed afterward. About 110 adults having elective back surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either lidocaine or a placebo during the operation. Researchers will measure pain, side effects, and how quickly patients get back on their feet.
