Wake-Up call: drug could speed recovery from surgery

NCT ID NCT07193836

Summary

This study is testing if adding the drug lidocaine to standard anesthesia helps patients having common laparoscopic surgeries. Researchers want to see if it helps people fall asleep faster, use less anesthesia medicine, and wake up more quickly and smoothly after their operation. They are measuring brain activity and recovery times in 195 patients to see if lidocaine improves the overall anesthesia experience.
