New heart drug trial could ease breathing for thousands

Summary

This study tests a drug called levosimendan in 332 adults hospitalized with acute decompensated heart failure (sudden worsening of heart failure). Participants will either receive the drug or standard care. The goal is to see if levosimendan improves symptoms like shortness of breath and reduces complications. The trial is not yet recruiting.
