First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving the antibiotic levofloxacin to children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) can delay or prevent the first episode of febrile neutropenia (fever with low white blood cells) during the first month of chemotherapy. About 124 children aged 1 to 18 will receive either levofloxacin or a placebo. The goal is to see if the antibiotic helps them avoid serious infections and stay safer during treatment.
