Needle injection trial aims to heal parasitic skin sores

NCT ID NCT06797544

Summary

This study is testing whether injecting an antibiotic called levofloxacin directly into skin lesions can treat cutaneous leishmaniasis, a parasitic skin infection. The trial will involve 40 participants with up to six lesions each, who will receive weekly injections for up to six weeks. Researchers will track how well the lesions heal over 90 days to see if this local treatment is effective.
