New hope for stopping seizures in newborns faster and safer
NCT ID NCT07401433
Summary
This study tested whether a medicine called levetiracetam works better and is safer than the standard treatment for seizures in newborn babies. Researchers gave one of the two drug treatments to 260 newborns with seizures and measured how quickly the seizures stopped and if there were side effects. The goal was to find a more effective and gentler option for this serious condition.
