Scientists probe immune System's secret battle after leukemia radiation

NCT ID NCT05035706

Summary

This study aims to understand how the body's immune system responds to leukemia tumors after they receive standard low-dose radiation treatment. Researchers will take small tissue samples and blood from about 10 adult patients with a type of blood cancer called acute myeloid leukemia before and after their radiation therapy. The goal is to gather information that could help doctors decide if adding treatments that boost the immune system (immunotherapy) might be beneficial for future leukemia patients.
