New wound cleaning methods tested for Hard-to-Heal leg sores
NCT ID NCT06652360
Summary
This pilot study compared two methods for cleaning hard-to-heal leg ulcers: a chemical treatment versus physical scraping (curettage). Researchers enrolled 80 people with venous or mixed-type leg ulcers to see which method worked better at removing dead tissue and helping wounds heal. The study measured wound size changes, healing rates, patient comfort, and quality of life improvements.
