First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at 26 adults having colorectal (bowel) cancer surgery while placed in a steep head-down position with legs raised in stirrups. Researchers measured blood flow and oxygen in the calf muscles during the operation to understand how a rare but serious leg injury called Well-Leg Compartment Syndrome (WLCS) develops. The goal was to gather information that could help doctors spot and prevent this complication earlier.
