First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study looked at 26 adults having colorectal surgery while placed in a head-down position with legs raised in stirrups. Researchers measured blood flow and oxygen in the calf muscles during surgery to understand why some patients develop a rare but serious leg injury called Well-Leg Compartment Syndrome. The goal was to gather information that could help prevent this complication in the future.
