New balloon treatment aims to save limbs from amputation

Summary
This study is testing whether a special balloon coated with the drug sirolimus works better than a standard balloon to open blocked arteries in the lower leg. It aims to improve blood flow and prevent amputations in people with severe peripheral artery disease. About 368 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the new drug-coated balloon or the standard balloon procedure.
