Massive IUD study: does new device match up?
NCT ID NCT02146950
First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a new hormonal IUD called LCS12 is as good at preventing pregnancy as the well-known Mirena IUD and copper IUDs. About 97,000 women under 40 who got a new IUD took part. Researchers tracked how often pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy, uterine injury, and pelvic infection happened with each device.
