Hormonal IUD under scrutiny: does it prevent pregnancy as well as others?
NCT ID NCT02146950
First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tracks about 97,000 women under 40 who get a new IUD (LCS12, Mirena, or copper IUD) to see if LCS12 raises the risk of unintended pregnancy. Researchers also watch for infections, ectopic pregnancy, and uterine injury. The goal is to confirm LCS12 works as well as established IUDs in everyday use.
