New gut bacteria treatment tested for rare liver disease

Summary
This study is testing an investigational capsule called LB P8 in adults with primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), a rare liver disease. Researchers want to see if the treatment is safe and if it can lower a key liver enzyme (ALP) that indicates disease activity. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either a low dose, a high dose, or a placebo for comparison.
