Calming scents and tunes tested to soothe frightened kids in the Dentist's chair
NCT ID NCT05759286
Summary
This study tested whether a blend of lavender and neroli essential oils, music, or both could help reduce anxiety in children during a common, painful dental injection. 108 children, aged 6-11, were randomly assigned to receive one of these calming methods or a placebo before and during their procedure. Researchers measured the children's anxiety levels, pain behavior, and vital signs to see which approach worked best.
