Side-Hold kangaroo care may keep tiny preemies just as warm
NCT ID NCT03990116
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looked at whether holding very premature babies (born before 28 weeks) on their side (lateral kangaroo care) works as well as the usual tummy-down position for keeping their body temperature stable. Researchers measured skin temperature changes in 70 infants during their first five days of life. The goal was to see if the side position is a safe and effective alternative for these fragile newborns.
