First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tested a technique called membrane stripping (the Hamilton maneuver) in 71 first-time mothers to see if it could shorten early labor and reduce the number of C-sections. The goal was to help more women have a vaginal birth by speeding up the latent phase of labor. The approach is simple and non-invasive, aiming to improve birth outcomes without major medical intervention.
