Laser vs ultrasonic: which cleans root canals better?
NCT ID NCT07607028
First seen Jun 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested two methods for cleaning infected root canals: ultrasonic activation and a 980-nm diode laser. Sixteen adults with dead nerves in a single-rooted tooth took part. Researchers checked for leftover bacterial DNA after each method. The goal was to see which approach removes more bacteria, but the study was small and only looked at DNA presence, not long-term healing.
