Shining a light on mouth pain: can a laser beat a pill?
NCT ID NCT07381361
Summary
This study tested two different ways to ease the pain of burning mouth syndrome, a chronic condition with no known cure. Researchers compared a non-invasive laser light treatment (photobiomodulation) against a dietary supplement (alpha-lipoic acid) in 60 adults. The main goal was to see which method better reduced patients' pain levels over time.
