Laser vs cream: new hope for women with painful skin condition

NCT ID NCT05010421

Summary

This study directly compared two common treatments for lichen sclerosus, a chronic inflammatory skin condition that causes itching, burning, and pain in the genital area. Researchers tested whether a series of three CO2 laser treatments worked better than using a strong steroid cream (clobetasol) over three months to control symptoms. The trial involved 246 women and aimed to determine which option provides better relief from the condition's discomfort.
