Study tests gentler laser surgery for lip tie

NCT ID NCT07465536

Summary

This study compared two ways to perform a minor mouth surgery to correct a tight or thick piece of tissue connecting the upper lip to the gum (a frenulum). Researchers tested whether using a laser instead of a scalpel, and adding a special low-level light therapy, could reduce pain and improve recovery after the procedure. They measured patients' pain, difficulty speaking and chewing, and overall quality of life after the surgery.
