New laser treatment aims to fade stubborn burn scars
NCT ID NCT07195539
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a CO2 fractional laser combined with tranexamic acid (a medicine that helps with pigmentation) can improve dark burn scars. 30 adults with scars older than 6 months will receive three treatments, one month apart. Each scar is split in half: one side gets laser plus the medicine, the other gets laser plus salt water. Improvement is measured using a skin pigmentation index and patient satisfaction.
