Laser zaps leakage: new hope for bladder control?
NCT ID NCT03996070
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested a special laser (Fotona Smooth Erbium Yag) as an outpatient treatment for women with stress urinary incontinence who had not improved with exercises or other conservative care. Thirty women were randomly assigned to receive either the real laser or a fake (sham) treatment, and neither they nor their doctors knew which they got. The main goal was to see if the laser reduced urine leakage more than the sham treatment at 6 months, using a standard pad-weight test.
