Lasers vs. infection: new hope for dental implant gum disease
NCT ID NCT06890117
First seen Jan 30, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tested a non-surgical laser treatment for peri-implantitis, an infection around dental implants. Forty adults with the condition were randomly assigned to receive either standard cleaning or a combination of two lasers (Er:YAG and diode). The goal was to see if the lasers could reduce pocket depth, bleeding, and harmful bacteria better than standard care. Results were measured after 3 months, and patients also reported pain and satisfaction.
