Shining a light on nerve pain: laser tested for stubborn thigh condition
NCT ID NCT07328360
Summary
This study is testing if adding a high-power laser treatment to standard care helps people with chronic meralgia paresthetica, a condition causing burning pain, tingling, and numbness in the outer thigh. Fifty adults with long-term symptoms will be randomly assigned to receive either the real laser therapy or a sham (fake) laser, along with usual advice and treatments. The goal is to see if the laser improves pain levels, reduces strange sensations, and helps with daily function better than standard care alone.
