Laser light targets mysterious thigh pain

NCT ID NCT07335822

Summary

This study is testing whether low-level laser therapy can reduce pain and improve daily function in people with meralgia paresthetica, a condition causing burning, tingling, or numbness in the outer thigh. Researchers will compare real laser treatment combined with electrical nerve stimulation against a placebo laser with the same electrical stimulation. The study involves 44 adults who will receive 10 treatment sessions over two weeks, with pain and quality of life measured during and after treatment.
