Shining a light on nerve healing: lasers battle jaw numbness
NCT ID NCT07416006
Summary
This study tested two types of low-level laser therapy to see if they could help heal a specific nerve in the jaw that is sometimes damaged during dental procedures like wisdom tooth removal or jaw surgery. The nerve damage can cause numbness or tingling in the lower lip and chin. Thirty participants with this type of nerve injury received either diode laser treatment, Nd:YAG laser treatment, or no laser treatment, to compare their recovery.
