Shining a light on gum disease: laser therapy tested as new treatment

NCT ID NCT06426550

Summary

This study tested whether adding two types of laser light therapy to the standard deep cleaning treatment helps people with moderate-to-severe gum disease. Twenty participants received either the laser treatments or a placebo alongside their regular cleaning. Researchers measured gum health and bacteria levels before treatment and three months later to see if the lasers made a difference.
