New combo therapy aims to boost gum healing without surgery
NCT ID NCT05907161
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study looks at whether adding low-level laser therapy and hyaluronic acid to standard deep-cleaning (scaling and root planing) can improve gum health in people with periodontitis. About 45 non-smoking adults with untreated gum disease will receive the standard cleaning plus one of the two add-on treatments or a placebo. The goal is to see if these additions reduce pocket depth, improve attachment, and lower bleeding more than cleaning alone.
