Laser zaps toothache pain after Nerve-Saving dental procedure

NCT ID NCT07290049

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looks at children and teens (ages 9-14) with a painful, inflamed nerve in a lower back molar. Instead of a root canal, they will get a pulpotomy, which removes only the infected part of the nerve and seals the tooth. Half will also get a gentle laser treatment on the healthy nerve to see if it reduces pain afterward. The goal is to find a more comfortable way to save the tooth.
