Laser tested to make tricky cataract surgery safer

NCT ID NCT07266844

Summary

This study tested a laser technique for a specific, difficult type of cataract surgery. It involved 24 patients with intumescent cataracts, which are swollen and can be risky to operate on. The goal was to see if using a laser to make the first opening was safer and more precise than the standard manual method.
