New laser probe aims to make vein insertions safer and faster

Summary
This study compares a new T-shaped ultrasound probe with laser guidance to standard ultrasound for inserting a central line into the neck vein. About 352 adults needing this procedure will be randomly assigned to one of the two methods. The goal is to see if the new probe improves the chance of success on the first try without complications.
