New treatment aims to spare patients from Voice-Box removal surgery

NCT ID NCT07423078

Summary

This trial is testing a combination of chemotherapy and immunotherapy drugs (carboplatin/cisplatin, paclitaxel, and toripalimab) for adults with advanced throat cancer. The main goal is to see if this treatment can effectively control the cancer while allowing patients to keep their voice box, avoiding a life-altering surgery called a total laryngectomy. Researchers will enroll about 87 patients to measure survival rates, safety, and how many patients successfully preserve their larynx.
