New throat scanner tested for voice disorder diagnosis

NCT ID NCT05245942

Summary

This study is collecting information about a medical device called the ECE50, which helps doctors diagnose problems with throat muscles that affect voice and breathing. The device attaches to a standard throat camera and uses gentle electrical stimulation to check how throat muscles respond. Researchers are monitoring 384 adults with suspected vocal cord or larynx muscle disorders to confirm the device is safe and works properly during routine medical exams.
