Bigger gastric tool tested in tiny trial
NCT ID NCT07572058
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study will test a larger version of the ViSiGi LUX device, which helps surgeons size and calibrate the stomach during gastric surgery. Ten adults having laparoscopic gastric surgery will use the device, and doctors will check if it can be placed correctly and works well. The goal is simply to see if the larger design is usable, not to treat a disease.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Large diameter ViSiGi LUX gastric sizing and calibration system (device)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could confirm that the larger device is safe and easy to use during gastric surgery, potentially giving surgeons a better tool.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early usability study with only 10 participants, so results may not apply to all patients or surgeons. The device may not perform better than existing options.
